Stress and anxiety affect the way we think, feel and behave and has many unpleasant physical symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a collaborative therapy where the therapist takes an active part in helping the client to solve their problem.
We work together towards understanding the problem insofar as how thoughts, feelings and behaviour affect their life and how they live it. It resembles educating/coaching and together we set realistic goals and also decide which techniques work best for the client personally.
It is becoming more and more popular with many G.P.’s and the NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) recommending it in particular for the treatment of depression and anxiety.
